Neste fim de ano seria o dia da graduação de minha
filha no Massada College. Tivemos que fazer um evento informal para
permitir que as crianças da escola pudessem se despedir de forma digna de
seus professores, após serem abandonadas por sua própria comunidade.
A escola fechou suas portas em julho deste ano. Quem
conhece a história de Kamtza e Bar-Kamtza irá entender. Lamentavelmente muitos ainda não
aprenderam as lições do passado.
Me pergunto, onde está o Beit Din?
Não irei me estender. Apenas deixarei desta vez a mensagem
de minha filha. A primeira, antes do fechamento da escola e a segunda, escrita
para o evento de despedida que aconteceu neste domingo, 4 de dezembro.
Seguiremos com um olhar otimista para o futuro confiantes em Hashem.
Que as palavras de minha filha
ecoem pelo mundo dos indiferentes.

Cycles of hardships,

Yet our trust in Hashem,
Our God, our master,
Has held us up together,
One mighty nation,
Forever joined,
Living in peace,
Never starting wars.
For the fire of Judaism,
Burns on within us,
Letting us endure,
Those things we have passed.
